October 31st is more than just Halloween. This year it is the 500th anniversary of the beginning of The Reformation. 500 years ago Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses on the church door in Wittenberg, Germany. This one act changed the world. So of course we had to think of it in marketing terms. Three reasons it succeeded:
The printing press – Luther and other reformers used modern technology and media to get their message out to a broad audience.
Their ideas were clearly stated in a compelling way.
They connected those ideas to the needs of their audience.
Nothing can beat the power of a great idea that connects with an audience. One idealistic and outspoken monk sparked a revolution with these three elements. When it’s time to launch your own revolution, these same principles hold true today.
