Launching a Save Water Initiative
Situation
As part of its effort to motivate Georgians to use less water, the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District (WPD) sought to create a campaign that would educate Metro Atlantans about water usage. The campaign’s objective was to make people think about their own usage and encourage them to take an online pledge to use less water.
The average person uses 89 gallons per day. Metro Atlanta alone uses about 600 million gallons of water daily. In order for the campaign to be a success, municipalities that made up the WPD had to embrace it and run the creative in their areas.
Approach
Creative Outhouse developed a campaign that incorporated TV, radio and outdoor boards to communicate to the general public. The creative demonstrated how much water is wasted by everyday activities, such as watering a lawn, leaving the faucet on while brushing your teeth and so forth.
These creative executions were also used in educational materials to remind the audience that even small actions can make a huge difference.
